Linn Cove Viaduct

This 1243-foot concrete segmental bridge on the Blue Ridge Parkway snakes around the slopes of Grandfather Mountain in North Carolina. It was completed in 1987 at a cost of $10 million and was the last section of the Blue Ridge Parkway to be finished. To ride across and get a close look at this engineering marvel, drive north on the Parkway for 78 miles from Asheville to Milepost 304.

No tree was cut down or stone moved to build this bridge.....I have scaled the rock behind it many times.....absolutely amazing....

The Rose Bowl college football game is traditionally a meeting between the winners of the PAC-10 and the Big 10, respectively.  One year, the Oregon State Beavers were playing against the USC Trojans, and the winner would win the PAC-10, and hence go to the Rose Bowl game.

I watched that game on TV, and there was an OSU sorority there with the 2 best fan posters of all time.  Unfortunately, I cannot find pictures of either of them online..... but they read:

"Our Beavers Eat Trojans For Breakfast"

and

"Our Beavers Smell Like Roses"

[biggrin]

Here are some pics of Shenandoah National Park, near me:

Here is the Wine Lodge outside of Mendoza, Argentina where my wife and I honeymooned... the view of the Andes at sunrise was unreal:
